Hello, this is my blog consisting of the work I have produced so far from both the Level 3 course I completed in 2013 and the Level 5 I am currently on, feel free to browse through any of the pages located in the right sidebar and look through each project I have completed. As you look through you will see where I started then my progression into specializing in textiles, to working as a fine artist.

My interests, have definitely been captured by expressive paintings so far whilst being on this level 5 course, the first project on mark making has given me a path to explore an expressive style of painting which I have enjoyed immensely. I am also interested in the contextual side of art, I love when you go to an art gallery and you look at a painting and then you read the small plaque at the side and discover what the artist was thinking or what was happening in that time period that influenced them into producing the piece of work in that particular style. I believe that the 'why' behind a painting is a very crucial part of understanding.

Textiles to Fine Art. I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy the level 3 course but after finishing the two years with a grade of MMP it was apparent to me that textiles wasn't the area I would work my best in, but I stuck it out and now on the HND I am determined to achieve the highest possible grade for my work, as I am definitely more passionate about this.

In the Future, after this course has ended I want to find myself going off to a university to do a top up course so that I will then have my full BA in Fine Art.

After education, is something that I haven't given a huge amount of thought to. I would like to either move onto a teaching course so that I could become a part in guiding the young minds of possible future artists, or I would love to work in an art gallery because then I'd be able to see paintings up close all day every day which is far better than looking at a picture in a book or online and working in a gallery would enable to me to discover the backgrounds of these paintings and I'd then be able to sure this information with other admirers of the art work.
